INGREDIENTS (4 servings):

300 g beef round, 100 g diced peanuts, lemon, perilla leaves ("oba" or "aojiso")
(A): 2 tablespoons soy sauce ("shoyu"), 2 tablespoons "sake" (Japanese rice wine), 2 teaspoons ginger juice, salt, pepper
Starch-water mixture:4 tablespoons starch, water
  1. Cut beef into 1 x 1 x 10 cm strips. Toss with (A).
  2. Mix starch with water. Dip (1) into mixture and coat with diced peanuts.
  3. Fry (2) in salad oil over medium heat until peanuts are light brown.
  4. Arrange perilla leaves on serving plate and place (3) over them. Garnish with wedged or sliced lemon.
