GREEN CHILI PEPPER WITH "JAKO"

INGREDIENTS (serves 4)
- 300 grams green chili peppers ("aotogarashi")
- 30 grams "chirimen jako" (young sardines)
- 100 grams konnyaku (devil's tongue) balls
- 1 red chili pepper ("akatogarashi")
- a [2 tablespoons sake, 1 tablespoon mirin, 1/2 tablespoon sugar, 1/2 tablespoon
- light soy sauce, 100 ml dashi]
- sesame oil
HOW TO COOK
- Cut the green chili peppers in half widthwise
- Remove the seeds from the red chili pepper and cut into small pieces
- Heat the sesame oil in a pan, add in order (1), (2), and the konnyaku balls
and stir fry; add (a) and the "chirimen jako" and bring to a boil. Arrange on
platter and serve .
