TOFU "STEAK" IN TOMATO SAUCE

INGREDIENTS (serves 4)

  • 2 blocks momen tofu
  • flour
  • butter
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 500 grams tomato
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • a [ 2 cups bouillon, 3 tablespoons sake]
  • 1 laurel leaf
  • "asatsuki" chopped into small pieces
  • pinch salt
  • pinch pepper
HOW TO COOK
  1. Sqeeze water from tofu gently, cut in half, lightly salt and pepper and sprinkle with flour
  2. Heat butter in skillet, add (1) and brown.
  3. Mince garlic, heat olive oil in separate pan, add garlic and cook slowly
  4. Parboil tomatoes to peel skin easily, remove seeds and cut into 5 mm cubes. Add to (3) and stir fry lightly. Add (a) and laurel leaf - when tomatoes are tender, season with salt and pepper
  5. Arrange (2) in center of platter, surround with (4) and garnish with asatsuki
